 Saturday 13 March   GRACE  AND THE COMMON GOOD:  Theology and the Built  Environment
Tim Gorringe, Professor of Theology at Exeter University, will address the question of the built environment in relation to climate change and resource depletion.

Saturday 24 April  EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY:  Christian Art and the Narrative of Faith
Sarah Sheppard,  Anglican Lay Reader and ESF Tutor, will give a slide presentation of Christian faith through artists' eyes.
Followed by the 2010 AGM

Saturday 26 June   WHY INTERFAITH?   
The Revd  Dr Marcus Braybrooke, who has had a long association with Ammerdown, and is an old friend of ETO and ESF, will first give an account of the different dimensions of interfaith work. Following this there will be a more personal emphasis on how our own spiritual journey has been enriched by meeting people of other faiths. How these discoveries raise questions for traditional Christian teaching will also be discussed.
Beacons of Light  is the latest of his 40 or more books. Currently Marcus is President of the World Congress of Faiths.

 Friday to Sunday 3 -5 September -  A Study Weekend:  PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE OF THIS WEEKEND
        AWAKE TO GOD: Explorations in the Mystical Way.
This is the title of the The Revd Canon Melvyn Matthews latest book. In it he attempts to bring together the different themes of self-emptying and participation which postmodern theologians have brought back into the conversation about God.  Melvyn Matthews, a former director of Ammerdown, has retired as Canon and Chancellor of Wells Cathedral.

Saturday 27 November   ASPECTS OF CREATION
Emeritus Professor Frances Young of Birmingham University will lead a Study Day at which we shall consider aspects of creation such as:  the idea of creation out of nothing and where it came from, creation in the Bible and creation and evolution. Her books include both academic and more popular theological writing, drawing on her work on the New Testament and on Christianity in its formative years.

Lunch for the day meetings and accommodation for the Study Weekend must be booked in advance. Please phone to book a place at the day meetings.
